The Tax Collector’s Prayer

– Luke 18:13

The Prayer of Ezra

– Ezra 9:5-15

David – for repentance (Psalm 51:10-13)

Holy Spirit – for us when we don’t know how to pray (Romans 8:26)

Jesus – for deliverance from the cross (Matthew 26:39) And He went a little beyond the, and fell on His face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; yet not as I will, but as Thou wilt.”

Jesus – forgiveness for his killers (Luke 23:34) But Jesus was saying, “Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.”

Paul – for the Ephesians (Ephesians 3:14-21) For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man; so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

Solomon – for wisdom (1 Kings 3:6-9)
